Si algo no queda claro, escríbenos.

Kitspotter is an app for photographing football kits in the street, identifying the team and completing collections. This policy explains what data we use, why, and what you can do about it. If anything is unclear, get in touch.

The short version

  • Your original photo never leaves your phone. Your phone cuts out the kit and makes a version of the photo with people blurred and faces covered. Only those two images are uploaded, with no metadata.
  • We never receive your exact location. Your phone turns your location into a city and country, and that is all we get.
  • We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising and there are no ads in the app.
  • You can download your data and delete your account at any time, in the app or at kitspotter.app/borrar-cuenta.

App usage: screens, actions and performance, without your name or emailYour phoneTo understand how the app is used and improve it
Messages you send usYouTo reply

We don't collect your contacts, photos from your gallery (the app only uses the camera), health data or your exact location.

Photos and people

  • The photo is processed on your phone. Kitspotter never uploads or stores the original photo.
  • Two images are uploaded: the cut-out, which shows only the kit, with no face and no background; and the focus photo, the whole photo blurred, with every person's face and hair covered and the kit kept sharp. Both have no metadata (no location, date or phone model).
  • If the phone finds a face over the kit, it discards the photo. The server runs a second check.
  • The aim is that nobody can be recognised. If something that identifies you appears, report it in the app or email us and we'll remove it.

Location

  • Location permission is optional. Without it you can still capture; the capture just has no city.
  • The system map service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android) turns your location into a city and country on the phone. Kitspotter only receives the city and country.

What is public

Other users can see your @username, display name, team, stats, showcase, medals, badges, followers and the captures you post (cut-out, focus photo, team, city, country and date), with their likes and comments. If you share your profile, the page kitspotter.app/<your username> shows a summary: how many teams and countries you have and your rarest capture. We ask search engines not to index that page. You can stop posting your captures in Settings.

Why we use it and our legal basis

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, these are the legal bases:

  • Contract (the Terms of use): the account, captures, identification, album, collections, feed, social features, in-app notifications and Kitspotter Pro.
  • Legitimate interests: security and fighting abuse (usage limits, App Check), moderation, improving identification with cut-outs and the teams chosen, and crash reports. You can object (see § Your rights).
  • Consent: location, push notifications and, where the law requires it, usage analytics. You can withdraw it in Settings or in your phone's settings.
  • Legal obligation: responding to authorities and keeping the records the law requires.

Identification with artificial intelligence

  • To identify the team, we send only the cut-out to Anthropic, which analyses it with its Claude model and returns the possible teams. The focus photo is not sent.
  • Doubtful or reported comments may also go through Claude to detect offensive content.
  • Anthropic works as our service provider: it uses this data only to provide the service to us and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models.
  • The AI makes no decisions with legal effects on you. You can always choose another team or "None of these", and when the AI hides a post, a person reviews it before it's confirmed.

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. Only these providers use it, on our behalf and under data protection agreements:

ProviderPurposeWhere
Google (Firebase): Authentication, Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, App Check and HostingAccounts, images, server, notifications, crashes, analytics, anti-abuse and the websiteUSA (us-east1)

Apple and Google also receive data when you sign in with them, when you pay for Kitspotter Pro and to check that the app is genuine (App Attest and Play Integrity). For payments they act under their own privacy policies.

We may give data to an authority if the law requires it, and to whoever continues the service if Kitspotter is sold or merged, with the same level of protection and after telling you.

International transfers

Your data is stored in the United States. For data from the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we use the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (with the UK addendum) and, where the provider has signed up, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For other countries we apply equivalent safeguards. You can ask us for a copy.

How long we keep data

DataPeriod
Account, profile, captures, likes, comments and followersWhile you have an account
Cut-outs uploaded but not confirmed24 hours
Notifications60 days
Database backups30 days; deleted data disappears from backups as they expire
Crash reports (Crashlytics)90 days

Reports and moderation actionsUp to 12 months after they're resolved, or longer if needed for a claim
Messages with usUp to 2 years
Purchase recordsAs required by law: [COMPLETAR: legal period]

When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days at most (see § Deleting your account).

Your rights

You can ask, at any time and free of charge, for:

  • Access and portability: a copy of your data. In the app: Settings > Export my data, which gives you a file with your profile, captures, comments and activity.
  • Rectification: correcting data. You can change most of it yourself in Settings.
  • Erasure: deleting your account and your data (see below).
  • Objection and restriction: that we stop using your data based on legitimate interests, or use it less.
  • Withdrawing consent: location, notifications and analytics, in Settings or on your phone.
  • Complaining to a data protection authority: the one in your EU country, the ICO in the UK, the URCDP in Uruguay or the AAIP in Argentina.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what data we collect, to delete and correct it, and not to be discriminated against for using your rights. We don't sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we don't use sensitive data to infer characteristics about you. The categories we collect are those in the table in § What data we use.

To use your rights, use the app or email contacto@introlabs.tech. We reply within one month (45 days in California). We may ask you to confirm the account is yours.

Deleting your account

In the app (Profile > Settings > Delete account) or at kitspotter.app/borrar-cuenta.

  • Deleted: your profile, your captures and their images, your likes, comments, followers and following, notifications, identification attempts and notification tokens.
  • Kept, with nothing about you: if you were the first person in the world to capture a team, the record stays as "deleted spotter". General counters (for example, how many spotters have a team) are recalculated.
  • Kept outside Kitspotter: purchase records that Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep for legal reasons.
  • Backups roll over within 30 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel Kitspotter Pro. Cancel the subscription in the App Store or Google Play.

Children

Kitspotter is for people aged 16 or over. It is not meant for children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it.

Security

Connections are encrypted. Only our server can write to the database, with per-user access rules, and we check that requests come from the genuine app. No system is perfect: if an incident affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

The website

kitspotter.app uses no cookies and no analytics. The server (Firebase Hosting) logs technical data, such as your IP address, for security and for a short time. The language you choose is stored only in your browser. Fonts are served from the same site.

Changes

If we change anything important, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
